The Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Ceremony is a traditional Christmas event now in its 83rd year. This is a public event and entrance is free based on a first-come, first-served.

The tree lighting ceremony gets underway at Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York. Daily visiting hours are from 5:30 am to midnight until January 6, 2016 when the event finishes.

Every year, tens of thousand of people either line up or watch a live broadcast of this special Christmas event.
